THE BACKGROUND

Career and background

Gyökeres’s first spell in England involved gradual development rather than an immediate Premier League breakthrough. He did not make a league appearance for Brighton’s first team, but played academy football and went on loan to St Pauli, Swansea and Coventry. Coventry signed him permanently in 2021; 40 goals across the next two seasons led to Sporting, where his return reached 97 goals in 102 matches before the Arsenal move.Source: Premier League ↗
