Ronaldo is married to Celina Locks, whom he met at a friend’s costume party in 2015. They became engaged in January 2023 and held wedding celebrations in Ibiza that September, beginning with an intimate religious service before a larger ceremony at their home.

For Ronaldo and Celina, their Ibiza house already had a family significance before it became their wedding venue. His earlier relationships included Nádia França, Viviane Brunieri and actress Susana Werner. He married fellow footballer Milene Domingues in 1999; they welcomed Ronald before separating in 2003. He also dated model Mireia Canalda. Presenter Lívia Lemos was linked to him in 2004, although she described them as friends in contemporary coverage.

In February 2005, Ronaldo and Daniella Cicarelli held a wedding-style celebration at Chantilly, but it was not a legal marriage because his previous divorce was still being completed. They separated later that year. He subsequently dated Raica Oliveira; contemporary reporting around their 2006 breakup also linked him with Alice Requião. He shares son Alexander with Michele Umezu and publicly acknowledged his paternity in 2010.

Ronaldo later shared a family with Bia Antony, the mother of Maria Sophia and Maria Alice. They announced their separation in December 2012. He then became engaged to DJ Paula Morais in December 2013, with the end of their relationship reported in January 2015.
