THE BACKGROUND

Career and background

Before becoming a Bundesliga star, Lewandowski worked his way through Poland’s divisions. After youth football with Varsovia and a spell in Legia’s reserves, he was the third tier’s leading scorer with Znicz Pruszków in 2006–07 and repeated the achievement in the second division a year later. At Lech Poznań he again topped the scoring chart as the club won the 2010 Polish title, earning his move to Dortmund.Source: UEFA ↗
