THE BACKGROUND

Career and background

His brother accompanied him when he moved to Barcelona. Neither could drive, so Pedri recalled arriving at his first training sessions by taxi, already dressed in his kit because of the pandemic rules. He was initially unsure whether he would remain with the first team.Source: The Players’ Tribune · Pedri ↗

FAMILY

Family life

Pedri’s childhood was closely tied to Tasca Fernando, the family restaurant in Tenerife. He and his brother played football in its basement while their grandmother worked upstairs. His father, once a promising goalkeeper, took over the restaurant after Pedri’s grandfather died and still drove him to early training after working through the night. Pedri has described the family’s long attachment to Barcelona as a passion passed down from his grandfather.Source: The Players’ Tribune · Pedri ↗
