Career and background

One of Icardi’s defining Inter performances came against former club Sampdoria in March 2018. He scored four times in a 5–0 win, reaching both 100 Serie A goals and 100 goals in an Inter shirt. Afterwards, he emphasised that the victory mattered more to him than the personal milestone.Source: Inter ↗

At Galatasaray, his scoring translated into consecutive domestic successes. He topped the Süper Lig scoring chart with 25 league goals in 2023–24. In February 2026, the club recorded his 73rd goal in its colours, taking him past Gheorghe Hagi as its highest-scoring foreign player at that point.Source: Galatasaray ↗
