Kieron Dyer

Football coach and former midfielder

Kieron Dyer is an English football coach and former midfielder. He began his playing career at Ipswich Town before spells with Newcastle United, West Ham United, Queens Park Rangers and Middlesbrough. He won 33 England caps and played at the 2002 World Cup. After coaching at Ipswich and Chesterfield, he became Southend United’s head coach in June 2026.

Relationship history

Dyer married Holly in 2014. He has spoken about the support of his wife and children and about family life after his playing career. His blended family includes four children and two stepdaughters.

His earlier partner Josie Jefferson is the mother of his sons Kie and Kaden. Contemporary local reporting covered the births of both boys. He has also spoken publicly about his younger son Kody.

In his 2018 autobiography, Dyer recalled going on dates with Cheryl before her relationship with Ashley Cole. He described it as a brief connection that did not develop into a serious partnership.
