Career and background
Gavi’s early progress brought international recognition as well as a place in Barcelona’s midfield. In October 2021 he made his senior Spain debut in a Nations League semi-final against Italy, becoming the country’s youngest men’s international at the time. At the 2022 World Cup he became Spain’s youngest player to appear and score at the tournament, finding the net against Costa Rica.Source: FC Barcelona ↗
He won both the Kopa Trophy and Golden Boy award in 2022, following Pedri’s double a year earlier. His career has also required patience through recovery: a serious knee injury on international duty in 2023 kept him out until October 2024, when he returned against Sevilla.Sources: FC Barcelona ↗ · FC Barcelona ↗
