Frenkie de Jong

De Jong began his senior career at Willem II before joining Ajax in 2016. He gradually established himself in Amsterdam, where his ability to receive the ball under pressure and move through midfield became central to the team’s play. He joined Barcelona in the summer of 2019 and made his league debut away to Athletic Club that August. His role evolved through changes of coach and position. Injuries interrupted later seasons, including the start of 2024/25, but he returned to make 46 appearances in that campaign. In October 2025 he extended his contract through 2029.
