THE BACKGROUND

Career and background

Rice’s route to senior football included being released by Chelsea at 14 and rebuilding his career at West Ham. He trialled with Fulham and West Ham immediately afterwards, choosing a move that took him farther from the family home. Even his West Ham scholarship was initially uncertain before academy manager Terry Westley backed his potential.Source: Premier League ↗

His interests beyond football include fashion: he walked in Labrum’s spring/summer 2025 show at the Emirates Stadium and has worked as a L’Oréal Paris ambassador. In a 2026 Vogue interview, he also spoke about returning to Dickerage youth club, where he played as a child and helped provide a new pitch in 2024.Source: British Vogue ↗
