Carrie Lawrence
Former professional footballer · defender
Carrie Lawrence is an American former professional footballer who spent her NWSL career with Orlando Pride. Born in Orlando, she played college football at the University of Central Florida before progressing from a Pride training place to the senior team. She retired in November 2024 after a season in which Orlando won both the NWSL Shield and Championship. Lawrence married her former Pride teammate Marta in Florida in January 2026.

Career and background
Lawrence played for UCF from 2016 to 2018, appearing 49 times and earning All-American Athletic Conference second-team recognition as a senior. Her college career included four goals and eleven assists. One of her 2017 goals came directly from a corner kick against LSU. Her professional debut came on 19 September 2020 against North Carolina Courage. She played the full match and made a goal-line clearance in a scoreless draw. By her retirement, she had made 33 appearances in all competitions for Orlando. Relationship history
Lawrence and Marta began dating in 2022 while they were Orlando Pride teammates. They announced their engagement in 2024 and married on 2 January 2026 in Jupiter, Florida. Their wedding photographs were shared publicly on Instagram.
