Sophia Thomalla is a German television presenter, actress and model. Her screen career began in drama before she won Let’s Dance in 2010 and moved into entertainment and reality television. She presents Are You the One? and was announced as the host of Germany’s House of Villains for 2027. Formerly in a relationship with goalkeeper Loris Karius, she has been with tennis player Alexander Zverev since 2021.

Career and background

Born in East Berlin, Thomalla is the daughter of actors Simone Thomalla and André Vetters. She attended the Constantin school for acting, dance and singing in Bochum from 2007 to 2009. An early television role came in Commissario Laurenti, followed by appearances in programmes including Eine wie keine, Der Bergdoktor and Der letzte Bulle.Source: RTL · broadcaster biography ↗

Her victory in the 2010 series of Let’s Dance, partnered by Massimo Sinató, widened her television work. She later returned to dance entertainment from the other side of the judging desk on Dance Dance Dance in 2016. Thomalla took over Are You the One? from its second German season, beginning in 2021. The format places singles together to work out their assigned matches. She has also fronted the celebrity version, Reality Stars in Love. In October 2026, RTL+ announced that she would host the first German House of Villains, scheduled for 2027. The competition brings established reality personalities into one house, where alliances and challenges determine who remains in contention for a prize of up to €100,000. Relationship history

Thomalla and Loris Karius began dating in late 2018 and made their relationship public in January 2019. Both confirmed their separation in June 2021. Her subsequent relationship with Alexander Zverev became public later in 2021 and remains current: she celebrated him on social media in November 2026. Earlier relationships included Till Lindemann, a brief marriage to Andy LaPlegua, and Gavin Rossdale. Contemporary reporting also documents her earlier relationship with DJ Dominik Becker and a short relationship with actor Sebastian Deyle in 2009.
