Relationship history

Shakira said she was single in June 2026. She was previously in a relationship with Gerard Piqué, which became public in 2011 and ended in June 2022. They have two sons, Milan and Sasha, and never married.

During their years together, Shakira and Gerard Piqué connected family celebrations to her humanitarian work. UNICEF records an online baby shower in 2013 inviting friends and fans to help vulnerable babies, followed by another World Baby Shower in 2015 celebrating the arrival of their second child.Source: UNICEF ↗

Before Piqué, Shakira spent almost eleven years with Antonio de la Rúa. They separated in August 2010 and announced the breakup in a joint statement in January 2011.

Her earlier partners include actor Osvaldo Ríos in 1997 and musician Gustavo Gordillo around 1996. Her teenage romances were with Óscar Pardo and, later, Óscar Ulloa.

After her split from Piqué, Shakira was linked in the press to Lewis Hamilton and Jimmy Butler in 2023 and to Lucien Laviscount in 2024. Those reports were not publicly confirmed. In her June 2024 Rolling Stone interview, she said she was not pursuing a formal relationship.
