Career and background

Arfaoui has worked under the name Sara Benamira as well as Sara Arfaoui. Her television credits include the 2019–20 season of Rai 1’s L’Eredità, where she was one of the programme’s professoresse. Sara and İlkay Gündoğan announced their marriage in May 2022 after a civil ceremony in Copenhagen. They celebrated again in Italy the following month, sharing wedding photographs on their own social accounts. Their family has since grown to include Kais, Ella and Kian. In April 2026 Galatasaray publicly congratulated the couple on Kian’s birth. Sara’s verified account is published under the name Sara Gündoğan, while her earlier television and fashion work also appears under Sara Arfaoui and Sara Benamira.
