Career and background
Becker’s professional identity is grounded in medicine and public health. WHO describes her as a Brazilian medical doctor whose advocacy focuses particularly on children: immunization, nutrition and healthy lifestyles are central themes. Her public-health interests also extend to sanitation in local communities. These are the areas recorded in the organisation’s own biography; her public role should not be confused with other people named Natália Becker.Source: World Health Organization ↗
WHO announced her appointment on 20 May 2019 during the seventy-second World Health Assembly in Geneva. Alisson Becker was appointed alongside her, connecting their shared public platform to health promotion. In family coverage, she is also identified by her full name, Natália Loewe Becker. The couple married in 2015 and subsequently welcomed Helena, Matteo and Rafael.
