Melissa Jiménez is a Spanish sports journalist and presenter specialising in motorsport. Born in Belgium and raised near Barcelona, she worked in radio, television and Moto2 team communications before becoming a MotoGP reporter for Mediaset. She joined DAZN’s Formula 1 coverage in 2022. She was formerly married to Marc Bartra, with whom she has three children, and is now partnered with Fernando Alonso. Their son Leonard was born in March 2026.

THE BACKGROUND

Career and background

Jiménez grew up around motorcycle racing: her father’s work with JJ Cobas brought the family from Belgium to the Barcelona area when she was two. She accompanied him to races and later studied communication sciences in Barcelona. After her studies she moved to Madrid and worked on Marca TV programmes including Tiramillas, Marca Motor and Marca Player. She then worked with Sky Italia in Milan and became press officer for the Forward Racing Moto2 team. Her reporting career expanded from two wheels to four when she joined DAZN F1 for the 2022 Formula 1 season. Her work has involved interviews and reporting directly from race circuits. Discussing her approach to live coverage in an earlier interview, she emphasised accuracy, objectivity and conveying the atmosphere of the pit lane to viewers. Relationship history

Jiménez and Marc Bartra began dating in 2014 and married on 18 June 2017. Their separation became public in January 2022 after they had begun living apart. They share Gala, Abril and Max. Earlier partners included motorcycle racer Mattia Pasini and singer Dani Martín; she also had a brief later relationship with presenter Dani Martínez. She and Fernando Alonso became a couple in 2023. They welcomed their first child together, Leonard, on 25 March 2026.
